FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Las Vegas longevity physician explains why
comprehensive hormone testing, which reveals not just hormone levels but daily
rhythms and how the body processes them, is the key to truly personalized care
LAS VEGAS, NV — September 1, 2026 — Millions of people struggle with fatigue,
low energy, poor sleep, weight changes, and a diminished sense of vitality,
often driven by hormonal imbalances that a standard blood test can miss
entirely. At LV Longevity Lab in Las Vegas, Dr. Wallace Brucker is helping
patients get answers with advanced hormone testing, including the DUTCH test, a
sophisticated assessment that reveals a far more complete picture of hormonal
health than conventional bloodwork alone.
The Limits of a Single Snapshot
For decades, hormone evaluation has relied largely on a
single blood draw measuring a few hormone levels at one moment in time. That
approach, while useful, has significant blind spots, according to Dr. Brucker.
"A standard blood test is a snapshot, a single frame
from what is really a full-length movie," said Dr. Brucker, medical
director of LV Longevity Lab. "Hormones don't stay fixed throughout the
day, and knowing a single number often isn't enough. What we really need to
understand is the pattern, how a person's hormones rise and fall across the
day, and how their body actually processes them. That's where the deeper story
is, and that's what a single blood draw simply can't tell us."
The clearest example is cortisol, the body's primary
stress hormone. Cortisol is meant to follow a daily rhythm, high in the morning
to promote wakefulness, then tapering to low at night to allow for restful
sleep. A one-time blood measurement captures only a single point on that curve,
potentially missing a disrupted rhythm that could be undermining a patient's
energy and sleep.
What the DUTCH Test Reveals
The DUTCH test, which stands for Dried Urine Test for
Comprehensive Hormones, is designed to overcome these limitations. Rather than
a single snapshot, it provides a detailed map of a person's hormonal health,
collected conveniently through dried-urine samples.
Crucially, the test reveals two things standard bloodwork
often cannot. First, it maps the daily rhythm of cortisol, exposing
stress-related imbalances that affect energy, sleep, and mood. Second, and
perhaps most importantly, it shows how the body metabolizes hormones, not just
how much of a hormone is present, but how it is being processed and broken
down.
"This is the part that changes everything," Dr.
Brucker explained. "Two people can have identical testosterone or estrogen
levels on paper and feel completely different, because their bodies process
those hormones differently. If you only measure the level, you miss that
entirely. When I can see how someone actually metabolizes their hormones, I can
make far smarter, safer, more personalized decisions about their care."
The DUTCH test assesses testosterone, estrogen, and
progesterone along with their metabolites, and can include additional markers
reflecting other aspects of hormonal and cellular health, giving Dr. Brucker a
comprehensive foundation for building a personalized plan.
Data, Not Guesswork
For Dr. Brucker, advanced hormone testing reflects the
core philosophy of his practice: measure precisely before acting. At LV
Longevity Lab, he pairs the DUTCH test with comprehensive blood analysis, so
that hormone levels, daily rhythms, and metabolism are all accounted for.
"I never guess with hormones, they're too important,
and too individual," Dr. Brucker said. "The single biggest mistake in
this area is treating everyone the same, or reaching for a therapy before you
truly understand the picture. When we start with complete, accurate data,
everything downstream gets better. The plan fits the person, it's safer, and we
can actually track whether it's working."
That last point, tracking, is a key advantage of thorough
testing. By establishing a clear baseline, follow-up testing allows Dr. Brucker
to objectively confirm whether a plan is working and refine it over time,
rather than relying on guesswork or symptoms alone.
Turning Symptoms Into Solutions
The practical impact, Dr. Brucker notes, is that vague
and frustrating symptoms can finally be connected to identifiable causes.
Fatigue that a patient was told to simply live with may trace back to a
disrupted cortisol rhythm. A stalled metabolism or low drive may reflect a
specific hormonal imbalance. Comprehensive testing turns an ambiguous set of
complaints into a clear, solvable problem.
"So many people have been told their labs are normal
while they still feel terrible," Dr. Brucker said. "Very often, the
answer was there all along, we just needed to look deeper. When we finally see
the full hormonal picture, patients frequently tell me it's the first time
anyone has been able to explain why they feel the way they do. That clarity is
powerful, and it's the foundation of real, lasting results."
