Ketogenic Diet-More than a Weight Loss Fad

Waterloo ONT, 9-NOVEMBER-2015 – Author Vanessa Olsen is pleased to announce the availability of her paperback and eBook in the Amazon Kindle Store. The motivation volume is titled “Ketogenic Diet - Achieve Rapid Weight Loss while Gaining Incredible Health and Energy”. When the book is purchased, a copy of “Paleo-Everything You Need to Get Started with the Paleo Diet” book is included at no extra cost. Some users of the strategy called Ketogenics say that it is the best kept secret in staying fit for life.

Since the early 1900s, when a scientific study on the connection between fasting and epileptic seizure reduction in intensity, many scientists have worked to understand the effect that diet has on health and weight. The author relates evidence that a diet relying on ketogenic principles is an effective alternative to pills. Over the years, the diet has been in and out of favor with the medical establishment.

In addition to the effectiveness of ketogenics in treating epileptic seizures, the science of ketogenics is found to be effective in treating other diseases, including ALS, cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, aging, mitochondrial disorder, brain trauma, depression, autism, and migraines.

While it is true that a slim and trim physique allows individuals to be more active, the eating plan offered by Ms. Olsen is known to be effective in eliminating illness and restoring energy and health.

In its simplest terms, the ketogenic diet requires people to get 70-75 percent of calories from high-fat sources and only 5 to 10 percent (up to 20 to 60 grams daily) from carbohydrates. The major principle of the plan says feed the body more fat than carbs and it will be forced to use fat for fuel rather than the glucose which comes from carbohydrates. The other crucial nutrient in going keto is protein. Protein is necessary but only in careful moderation. Author Vanessa Olsen shows how to calculate the amount of protein which is recommended, using either of two methods.

A step-by-step plan is detailed in order to safely and effectively begin the implementation of the eating plan. She suggests keeping the personal medical professional apprised of the plan to begin a ketogenic plan, so that it can be done under medical supervision.

A detailed series of recipes is included with the book to make it easier to implement the diet. While many people want to lose weight and feel better, it can be difficult to know precisely what to eat and what not to eat while practicing the ketogenic plan.
